Chronicles of Women is part of a new series of social theatre by Zuni Icosahedron. The piece explores various psychological and physiological illnesses and their relations with being female. Through theatre, music, video, installations, workshops, and conferences, the play shares with the audience the issues of women and the attitudes towards illness and the status of women in modern society. WEI Ying-chuan was invited by Danny Yung, the artistic director of Zuni, to lead a three-month workshop in Hong Kong on Chronicles of Women and conducted a series of field work, interviews, workshop, rehearsals, and therapy classes. The play was the collaborative work among social workers, local women, actors, and workshop members.
